Formerly known as Brian Poirier, B2 (aka B Squared) has reinvented himself, embracing a fresh, dynamic identity while staying true to his roots as a passionate musician and songwriter. Hailing from both the East and the West coasts, B2 combines years of experience with an innovative, genre-blurring approach that pushes the boundaries of blues, rock, and experimental soundscapes.
Early Life and Career: Born and raised in Massachusetts, the Jersey Shore and New York, B2 picked up his first guitar at the age of 13, quickly discovering a deep love for music. Influenced by The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, The Doors, The Kinks and legends like David Bowie, Montrose, and Bruce Springsteen (and many many many others), he began writing songs in his teenage years, performing at local venues, and developing his signature sound.
Band Experience: B2 gained prominence as the frontman for several well-known bands, including Iguana Twist, The HiWatts, Brian and the Dominos, and The Rocking’ Blues Revue. Touring nationally and internationally, his time with these groups solidified his reputation as a versatile performer and songwriter, capable of blending blues, rock, and soul into captivating live performances that left audiences wanting more.
Solo Success: Under the name PPL Inside Us, B2 Released two signature albums, PPL Inside Us, and 2-3-4. Brian and the Dominos released a swing album entitled Stompin’ Kickin’ Swing & Blues which earned critical acclaim for his heartfelt lyrics and production and lyrical prowess. His most recent singles Positive First and Illuminate showcase a more intimate and personal side of his artistry highlighting his evolution as a musician.
Rebirth as B2(Squared): In 2023, Poirier embraced a new chapter in his career, rebranding himself as B2 to reflect a broader, more experimental vision. The name signifies his duality as both a seasoned artist and a perpetual innovator. With this transformation, B2 delves into electronic textures, looping, and layered soundscapes while maintaining the soulful essence of his blues-rock roots.
Musical Style and Vision: B2’s music is a fusion of the organic and the electronic, seamlessly weaving together electric guitar riffs, ambient synths, and driving rhythms. His lyrics explore themes of transformation, self-discovery, and the human experience, resonating with listeners on a deep emotional level.
